About the Club
The Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York (HBSCNY) seeks to further the professional development of its members, affiliates and guests through offering an extensive arrange of programs, services and opportunities that address the major business trends in New York, the United States and the World.
Membership and Affiliations
The Club draws from an extensive network of over 10,000 Harvard Business School alumni in the New York area. The leadership of the HBSCNY consists of a cross-section of successful business professionals from a range of industries and fields.
The Club is also closely associated with the Harvard Club of New York City, the faculty and administration of the Harvard Business School, as well as other alumni and civic associations in New York.
Activities
The highlight of the HBSCNY’s calendar is the annual International Dinner. The International Dinner is a black-tie gathering of more than 500 HBS alumni and other business leaders. The Dinner funds the Club’s operations and Community Partners program for the year as well as providing $25,000 in financial aid for MBA students and a full scholarship for to the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management Course at HBS for a local nonprofit executive director.
The club boasts a vibrant set of Program Activities which include a number of distinguished speaker series, ranging from small gatherings of 10-15 people to full-day conferences of over 400. Particular areas are general business programs (entrepreneurship, technology, media, consumer marketing, finance, and personal money management), career development and social programs. In addition, the HBSCNY is actively involved in the redevelopment efforts in Lower Manhattan through speaker series, volunteer programs and fund-raising.
The HBSCNY’s Community Partners program provides pro-bono consulting to local nonprofit entities. During the past year alone, the program completed 14 separate consulting projects in the New York area.
